The C.O.D.'s - Michael The Lover - 1965
Check out this clip from YouTube.com. I can't believe it! As I mentioned in a earlier post I used to be in a band called Pinch. Robert Lewis was the leader of the group and my songwriting mentor. He used to be in a soul group named The C.O.D's and they had a hit record named Michael The Lover on which he is the lead singer. Robert told us stories about the group but until now I had never seen a video. I hope you enjoy it as much as me. Robert is the one in the middle.

YouTube has removed the above video so I am providing a link to the audio:

I believe Michael Lewis grew up in the same CHA public housing project as myself. It was 4040 S. Oakenwald in Chicago. I've been trying to find a single or album with "Michael the Lover" on it. Do you have any sources that I can try?
I happen to have a couple of 45's on the C.O.D.s and love their slow songs such as pretty baby and cry no more. Would love to see a cd with their recordings. Do they have enough material to put once together? Is that even a possibility?
THANK YOU FOR PROVIDING MY HUSBAND AND ME WITH THIS VIDEO OF "MICHAEL THE LOVER" WHOSE NAME IS ALSO MICHAEL. MY HUSBAND WAS TWENTY-ONE WHEN THE RECORD WAS RELEASED AS A 45.
Why did YouTube remove the clip "Michael The Lover? I would enjoy viewing that clip!

p.s listening to the D.Miner at the moment. like it so far. I'll get back to you on it.
Thank you all so much for your support. Robert Lewis is my father and I have heard many stories of his travels singing Michael the Lover, but I never saw or heard a recording of it until now so this was quite a treat! I remember whaching his band Pinch record/ practice in the studio in Evanston IL. Thank you again, I can't wait to share this with my Dad.
